In 2018 my church introduced a program for High School students. The program was to help students deal with unintended pressure from parents, teachers, coaches and everyday teenage life. The goal was to help them understand how to deal with these issues to avoid anxiety, depression, suicide thoughts, suicide, turning to drugs and/or alcohol as copping methods.
I decided to research parenting trends. I wanted to see if there was anything on the horizon to be aware of. And why children needed programs like our church has adopted. Indeed, there is. The research currently is from the East and West coasts. Parents do everything they can to get their kids into the best school. Getting the Best Grades. Being the BEST. (note: and is happening right here in Ohio too)
Unfortunately, this natural parental desire to have the best for your children has developed into a system where children ARE NOT being prepared for the rigors of college, trade school or life as an adult.
This program is designed to help parents make decisions based upon a single reminder. "IS WHAT I AM DOING PREPARING MY CHILDREN FOR ADULTHOOD?"
To provide the tools for parents to better prepare their Children for Adulthood.
